Chodesh Kislev Fun

Sunday and Monday were Rosh Chodesh Kislev. Boy are we excited!!! The Chanukah spirit is in the air. This week we met the Yivanim, the Macabim, mean King Antiochus, and learned about the miracle of the oil. During playtime we have been exploring various chanukiot, sivivonim, and other Chanukah related objects, on our shulchan ivrit. Putting our fine motor skills to the test, we painted a chanukiah with sponges, to decorate our bulletin board, and dot painted 3-D dreidels. Stay tuned for all the exciting Chanukah activities coming up!

Communal Mural

Reflecting on last week's professional conference on process art, the early childhood teachers worked out a new way to celebrate Rosh Chodesh. Each month, our six classes will contribute to a communal mural. The children will be given a choice of materials to help them express what they know and feel about the upcoming month. Our Rosh Chodesh Kislev mural is proudly displayed in the main halls of our school. Come and see it!
