Shushan Purim

We had so much fun on Shushan Purim! The children were excited to come to school and see each other and their morot in costumes. We paraded around the school, and enjoyed seeing older siblings and friends in costume as well. Magician Joe Fischer came to perform a magic show, performing lots of funny tricks for the children. What a fun way to end a festive Purim week!

Purim is Coming!

Gan Aleph is ready for Purim! Ahava and Chanani help to roll up their friends' completed megillot. Sammy stays in the Purim spirit by wearing a costume as he builds in the block center. And Jordy and Vicky show us true simcha dancing!

Purim fun has only just begun...

Gan Aleph is actively engaged in their interactive Purim unit this week. The addition of new crowns, costumes and a "real" palace transformed our drama center into Shushan. The children honed their social skills by sharing the new props and costumes. They were able to reinforce the first few parts of the Purim story that we learned in class. As a follow up to all of this dramatic role play, the children have started to write their own megillot. This will enable the children to reinforce what they have learned and connect to the story. Stay tuned for more updates as we explore this wonderful holiday through many different avenues. What is your favorite childhood memory of Purim? We'd love to know!

Welcome to Shushan

Purim is in the air in Ganon Bet. Our dramatic play center has been transformed into Shushan. King Achashverosh, Queen Esther, Mordechai, and Haman can be found at any given time. Each and every day we review the story of Purim using puppets, songs and costumes. We can't wait for Purim to come!

Sharing Reading With The Fifth Graders

The fifth graders came to buddy read Hebrew story to each kindergartner. The story was about an egg that dressed in costumes. After listening to the story, we worked together to create our own eggs, dressed in a costumes. The finished products are proudly displayed in the hallway.
