In honor of Veterans Day, Doniel's dad came in to talk to the children in Ganon Aleph about the time he served as a major and a doctor in the U.S. Air Force. He explained that part of his job was to make sure that the pilots were well enough to fly the planes, and that the people who were in charge of fixing the planes were well enough to do their jobs. The children learned that Veterans Day is a day set aside to thank all the people in the military who help us and keep us safe. To make the idea of Veterans Day more time-relevant, Doniel's dad compared a veteran to a Maccabee!

I love the timely comparison between a veteran and a Maccabee!
