Ganon Bet, Ganon Bet What Do You See?

Did you know that we have a three sided easel in Ganon Bet? Do you know what happens when you put an object in the middle of the easel? We can see it through the plexiglass, how cool! Chanukah is going to be here before we know it and we decided to paint our own version of chanukiot, which are proudly displayed in our classroom! Using our fine motor skills and our spatial skills we had to think of how we wanted to create our chanukiot and use our paintbrush to bring it to life!  Come take a look for yourselves!

Gan Gimmel Gets Going!!

Gan Gimmel is off to a great start! After doing Hebrew calendar, the children realized that Rosh Hashana is just two weeks away! We have tapuchim in our room; one was adom and one was yarok. After finding many things in the room that were adom, yarok and tzahov, the children got a chance to paint at the easel with those colors.


Ezra, Aidan and Noam are getting to know each other as they drive through town using our emergency vehicles. What is your child's favorite thing in our classroom so far?

Portrait of a Friend

Jeremy and Benny found a new use for the acrylic easel in Gan Bet. Benny climbed in, and Jeremy sketched him with pastels. They laughed and took turns as artist and model. Observation skills, visual motor skills, creativity, and so much fun!

Gan Aleph, Gan Aleph, What do you see?

I see a menorah looking at me! Gan Aleph experienced Chanukah through our new acrylic see-through easel. A menorah and dreidel were placed on the inside of this 3 way easel. The children looked through the glass and painted what they saw straight onto the easel! Then we pressed paper onto their easel painting and saw it come alive! We are excited to use our new easel for many future activities!

Chanukah Art

Following our Election Day conference on process art, we purchased some 3 sided acrylic easels. Morah Alana and Miss Judy stood a chanukiah inside their new easel, and the children were able to carefully observe as they painted. Today, the Pre-K children had "play dates" between classes, and Amira got a chance to use bright colors to paint the chanukiah. When the children are done, the teachers capture the work by placing a large sheet of paper over it, and having the children press. Beautiful!
