Havdalah Pajama Party 2014!!

The Ganon classes enjoyed our annual Havdalah Pajama Party this past Motzei Shabbat.  We all joined in the gym where the children worked with their parents on sewing their Hamalach Hagoel Oti pillows.  Donny Perlman and Esti Schreiber's grandfather made Havdalah for us, after which we watched a slideshow with photos of the children celebrating Shabbat party, stomping grapes to make grape juice, and creating their besamim, candles, and pillows for this special evening.  After dancing and snacking on yummy s'mores, the children went home - tired, happy, and ready for a new week.  Shavua Tov to one and all!

Havdalah Pajama Party

Ganon Aleph and Ganon Bet children came to Yavneh with their parents on Saturday night for our annual Havdalah Pajama Party!  As they arrived, they began sewing and stuffing the pillows they had decorated during the week with their Hebrew names on one side and the words to "Hamalach ha-goel oti" on the other.  Morah Shani's husband, Yitz Norman, recited Havdalah for everyone after which they enjoyed snacks, including the s'mores which they made in school on Friday.  They sang and danced to the keyboard music of Binyamin from BaRock Orchestra.  Finally, they were treated to a slide show of photos from all of our Havdalah-related activities over the last few weeks.  Each child went home with a Havdalah basket including the beautiful b'samim holders and Havdalah candles they made in school, a special cup, and the Havdalah brachot, as well as the cuddly pillows they made.  What a fun way to say Shavua Tov and bring in a new week!

Havdala Pajama Party

The children were so excited to come to school in their pajamas this past Saturday night for our Havdala Pajama Party. They brought their favorite stuffed animals and pillow pets, and settled down to complete their b'samim holders and work on some Havdala projects. Rabbi Knapp made Havdala for us, Binyamin from BaRock Orchestra accompanied our singing on his keyboard, and Mrs. Cohen read "Hanna's Sabbath Dress" with the illustrations displayed on a large screen. What a fun way to say goodbye to Shabbat and hello to a new week!!

Havdalah Pajama Party

This past Motzei Shabbat, the Pre-K students and their families came to school for a fun-filled Havdalah Pajama Party. Dressed in pajamas, and carrying a favorite teddy bear, the children put together mini-books about havdalah and the 5 senses. They snacked on popcorn and chocolate milk. Rabbi Penn recited Havdalah, and the children used the besomim that they had each made in class. There was singing and dancing to music provided by Binyamin of BaRock Orchestra, and Mrs. Cohen read a delightful bedtime story called "Hannah's Shabbat Dress". What a warm and wonderful way to end Shabbat and begin a new week!
