Gan Aleph had a great time getting ready for Rosh Hashanah. We baked honey cookies as a sweet treat. Many of the children created honey dishes in the shape of an apple.
On Monday the children were so excited to return to school. They regaled us with stories of hearing the shofar, going to shul and dipping apples in honey. We began the week by reviewing what the children knew about Yom Kippur. We read the book, Sneakers to Shul by Floreva Cohen. Gan Bet joined us to listen to the story of Yonah. Using puppets, a giant boat and a big fish, our morot described every exciting detail of the story. We learned a special "I'm sorry" song (to the tune of traditional Avinu Malkenu).
Wishing you and your family a K'tiva V'Chatimah Tova and an easy and meaningful fast!
