We may look different, but inside we are all the same!

Being that we were away for Martin Luther King Jr. day, we commemorated the importance of the day this past week in Gan Bet.

In order to talk about our similarities the class answered questions such as the following:
            Do we all have eyes?
            Do we all have hearts?
            Do we all have brains?
Do we all feel happy if someone is our friend, and sad if someone is mean to us?

Each child talked about how they answered the questions with slightly different answers but in the end they all came to the same conclusion.

We learned about how some people were treated differently because they looked different on the outside, and how Martin Luther King Jr. did a lot to change that.
We looked at our skin, faces, and physical outsides and came to the conclusion that we are all different, but we are still all the same!

  1. A picture is worth a thousand words. That picture provides a visual that says it all! Let's continue to celebrate our unique differences and recognize that we are all similar too!
